Starting an investigation

Open a case and navigate to the Investigation tab on the right side of the workspace. From here, you can either start a new investigation or continue an existing one.

Click Start Investigation.

A window will open with two fields to fill in:

  • Investigators: Assign one or more investigators. They will receive an email notification once the investigation is created.
  • Case summary: Provide any context the investigators need before taking over, such as a handover summary, relevant background, or preliminary findings.

Once you're ready, click Start investigation to confirm.

💡 One case = one investigation. Every investigation must be initiated from a case.

What happens next:

  • You are redirected back to the case detail.
  • The investigation is now visible in the case, with a direct link to it.
  • The action is recorded in the activity log.
